This is the first in a series of posts where we'll showcase some of the members of the SpatialWorx team.

Tim currently serves as the Enterprise GIS Technical Manager in the SpatialAge Solutions Division of Byers Engineering Company and is a valued member of the SpatialWorx team. He has a wealth of GIS experience from his background in key roles in government, industry, and education and has brought that experience to bear on his role here. In addition to coordinating different GIS efforts at Byers, Tim doesn't hesitate to get his hands dirty by building maps and geographic models using the ESRI platform for various projects.

For SpatialWorx, Tim uses his GIS and specific domain expertise to develop plans for various industry and organizational solutions that drive the functional requirements of the product. This typically takes the form of use cases for distinct implementations and/or templates such as Automated Vehicle Locate services (AVL), Fire Hydrant Inventories, and Stormwater systems inspections. These use cases are then used to define functional enhancements and ultimately incorporated into prepackaged project templates that customers can use to speed up the definition and configuration phase of project building in the system. Additionally, Tim has contributed various other documentation for the product and is a key advisor to the SpatialWorx development team.

Tim began his GIS career at Kennesaw State University in Georgia where he earned his BS in Geographic Information Science in 2008, followed by a Master of Science in Information Systems in 2014, and his MBA in 2015. He extended his role in the educational community by serving as a teaching assistant and later professor of GIS at Kennesaw State. In the government space Tim has held positions of GIS Manager for the city of Woodstock, Georgia, the GIS Coordinator for Bartow County, Georgia, and the Enterprise GIS Team Lead for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). He has been with Byers now for the last several years and has been an integral addition to our team.
